This looks quite nice, if rather blue! Shocked
The new 7 series it shares the drive with suggests it's probably been looked after too. Is it a standard slushmatic on these or did they have the CVT box?

I think it was the K-series cars that got the CVT 'box.

AP 4 speed slushbox-in-sump.

So does the autobox use the engine oil just like it does in a manual then? Confused I've never heard of one that doesn't run on ATF.

Yes, it runs on the same oil that's used in the engine. That's the same oil, not just the same type of oil. The yanks, who had been building autos for years by then, couldn't believe that it was actually possible.

Indeed it does Weegie, same manky oil. This is also the case with the AP / E series slushbox in sump as fitted to the Maxi/Allegro. Where the theme differs is with the auto on the Landcrabs, the location is still underneath the engine, but the oil supplies are separate.

Yup, ADO17 and ADO71 used Borg Warner 35, off a chain. So underneath in fact, the pan cooling fins are regularly clouted and covered in soil if you're careless
